If you haven’t heard the news yet, big things are happening…
After 2 years of prayers and preparations, Care Net of Puget Sound is officially relocating our Gig Harbor location to Port Orchard – expanding our reach into Kitsap County and a community in great need of life-affirming care.
In February of 2024, the board approved the purchase of a property located at 381 Tremont St W, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
Why the Move?
Pregnant women and families in the region between Gig Harbor and Bremerton need options and services for unplanned pregnancies.
Care Net’s client numbers at the Gig Harbor Center are consistently low while lease costs are high. The greatest barrier we see for women receiving services is transportation from Kitsap County to Gig Harbor. For about two years, Care Net of Puget Sound has been diligently exploring various options to relocate our Gig Harbor center to a more strategic and accessible location.
We found a property conveniently located for patients and clients living in communities surrounding Pierce and South Kitsap County. The board approved the purchase of the property (about $500,000) in February of this year.
Owning the property and building will save about $7,000 per month in lease costs. God blessed us with the ability to purchase the property in this new location which aligns perfectly with our vision to enhance our outreach and provide even greater support to those in need.
The Plan:
Our plan is to break ground on this property later this year or in early 2025. This move is not just a relocation but a strategic step toward fulfilling Care Net’s long-term goals. By owning more of our locations, we are investing in the future stability and growth of our services, ensuring that we can continue to offer life-affirming support for years to come.
The Numbers:
The total cost of the capital campaign is projected to be $1,728,808 million dollars. As of August 28.2024, we have already raised $702,067 – praise God!
“Moving to Meet Her”
This move embodies our commitment to “move to meet her”—to go where she is, to be present in her time of need, and to offer a safe haven where she can find hope and options. This new location will allow us to meet her exactly where she is, in a community where our presence is needed more than ever.
Please feel free to share this news with those in your life and ask them to pray with us for this campaign!
Prayer Points:
- Pray for officials, local leaders, and the community as we establish our new location.
- Ask for God’s protection over the construction workers and everyone involved in the renovation and preparation of our new facility.
- Pray for a smooth and timely permitting process, with no unexpected delays or obstacles.
- Lift up our financial needs, trusting that God will provide the necessary funding in His perfect timing and according to His will.
Our theme verse for this campaign is Matthew 17:20b
“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
