We at Care Net of Puget Sound have been incredibly blessed over the past summer, as volunteers from churches throughout the Puget Sound rallied together to prepare our new clinic property in Port Orchard!
On June 22, 2024, we kicked off the first major work party with 11 dedicated volunteers from various churches across the Puget Sound. These individuals spent the day running three mowers and three weed eaters, piling and chipping branches to clear the grounds. Their efforts set a strong foundation, making the property much more accessible and preparing it for future work parties.
Next, on July 6, 2024, Harborview Fellowship hosted their own workday, sending 8 volunteers to continue the transformation. They tackled the overgrown bushes, cut down trees, and mowed the lawn, further beautifying the property.
Most recently, on Sunday, August 25, over 30 volunteers from Harbor Covenant Church in Gig Harbor descended on the clinic property for a massive work party. Their collective energy was phenomenal as they trimmed trees, cleared the back area, and worked tirelessly to make the space shine. Two volunteers even brought their own equipment to take down a large tree, completing three dump runs to haul away the debris. By the end of the day, the once-overgrown apple tree was beautifully pruned, and the property was completely transformed.
Each of these incredible work parties was a testament to the heart and hands of Christ at work through His people. From the early efforts in June to the continued push into August, these volunteers poured their love, time, and energy into creating a welcoming space for the women and families who will be served at this clinic.
We are deeply thankful for our church partners and volunteers, whose investment in this work has brought all of us one step closer to offering life-affirming care in South Kitsap County.
This is truly God’s work, done God’s way, by God’s people, for God’s glory.
